Is there data cleansing process supported?
Yes. Validata V-Conn provides several techniques and functionalities to support data cleansing. Automated validation functionalities are available, while users can create their own validation rules. In both cases we can automatically verify and the format of the extracted data and the content of it.
What is the training period required?
For 5 users it is required 1 week of training on Validata V-Conn.
Who owns the data?
Owners will need to be identified for all key data identities, and they will need to be aware of what is expected of them and their responsibilities during the migration project .Validata is capable of supporting user workflows and also to track down the task, responsibilities, dependencies and communication between business and IT. This will assist as well in ensuring business engagement and will facilitate agile user acceptance testing that is also supports by Validata solution.
Older data will be archived or migrated?
Almost 60% of migrations involve archiving of old and historical data. This reduces the scale requirements for the migrated system (s).Key item for archiving is to identify and understand all relationships in data (data profiling).Validata solution is designed in order to be an archiving systems holding all relations and dependencies between data. Also validata solution provides the ability to monitoring retention policies as it is necessary to comply with legal requirements – data governance.
What if the project involves sensitive data?
In most of the cases sensitive data are involved in migration projects. Validata solution provides masking mechanism in order to protect and secure all those sensitive pieces of information .Masking and Scrambling are part of the tools methodology and functionality. On top of that data quality is also something that is ensured during this process
What about data governance?
Good data quality should be ensured throughout the migration process. For that purpose monitoring the data quality is something very important .Therefore Validata has specific mechanism in order to ensure that. Also Validata’s Reconciliation engine will provide details regarding records with missing data, or failed to be migrated or even duplications etc, all based on business rules.
What are the migration phases that Validata solution supports? Does it support also the development phase?
Validata solution supports all migration actions and phases like: Development, Analysis, Cleansing, and Testing and of course the ETL (Extract, transform and load) process.
