Andrew Buxton was Chairman of Barclays Bank from 1993 to 1999 and has been President of the British Bankers Association and a director of the Bank of England. He is a director of the Development Bank of Singapore and Chairman of the Advisory Board of Merchant Bridge Ltd.
In 1999 he founded the European Services Forum which represents service businesses in Europe and was its first Chairman. He now acts as a Financial Consultant. In 2003 he was made a Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George in the UK for services to international trade.
