Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi leverages Validata’s Performance Tester to optimise its performance.

Validata Group, the leading provider of Validata SAS, the first truly integrated Automation Lifecycle Management solution for the Banking and Finance Sector, is pleased to announce that Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi (BTMUM) in Mexico have chosen Validata Performance Tester to optimize the performance of their web applications.

BTMUM realized that it was becoming a necessity to validate and optimise their environment. They identified the need for a performance testing tool to simplify, de-risk and accelerate the performance testing lifecycle and create a robust environment to continue to provide to their customers a level of service of high quality and performance.

Validata’s Performance Tester is designed to meet business needs as environments constantly change, enabling deeper testing coverage as well as managing the performance testing process from start to finish, delivering a faster and cost-effective approach to test the scalability and availability of the banks’ critical applications.

Unlike the traditional approach to Performance and stress testing where you define objective, create and run tests, analyse the results and then go back and repeat until clear conclusion, Validata’s solution has rich ‘dynamic test control’ functionality which allows the tester to change the test at run-time. This enables a very different approach to performance and stress testing which can speed up the process and help you quickly isolate root-causes.

The load & performance testing conducted with Validata’s solution brought to light shortcomings and failings in the applications’ performance such as response time problems.

Main observations had to do with the responsiveness of the browser which was timing out too often. The root causes were multiple and resolution included among others Webshpere patching, T24 packs installations and network quality upgrades. Additional optimizations, like web compression, local development optimizations, parameter changes in webserver, were also identified and implemented.

The bank was able to concentrate their resources more effectively, and together were able to identify all design issues and performance bottlenecks well before production, and ensure that the bank’s applications are reliable before they go live, allowing the bank to improve its system performance and achieve significant time and cost savings.

Vaios Vaitsis, Founder and CEO of Validata Group said, “BTMUM have been users of our solutions for more than a year now and in that time we have built a strong relationship with them. It was pleasing then to be able to extend this service to Performance Testing and be able to deliver real value in their project.”
